Indian Grand Prix timetable announced


The Federation Internationale de l'Automobile ( FIA) announced the timetable for the inaugural Airtel Indian Grand Prix in the October 28 to 30 weekend.
Fans will get the first taste of F1 in India on October 28 with the first practice session scheduled for 10 am at the Buddh International Circuit in Greater Noida.

It will be followed by a second practice session from 2 pm to 3.30 pm. JK Racing Asia Series and Delhi Championship with MRF will be the two support races for the Indian GP, according to schedule posted on F1's official website.
The all-important qualifying will begin at 2 pm on October 29, which will be preceded by the one-hour long third practice session from 11 am. The race will be flagged off at 3pm on October 30.
Meanwhile, 20 MRF Formula 1600 cars were put through their paces at a shakedown session in Chennai on Thursday in preparation for the support race for the Indian GP. The support race, which offers $100,000 in prize money, will feature nine Indian drivers, besides 11 from Britain, Finland and France.
National Rally champion Gaurav Gill said, "It is amazing that we get to race in Delhi prior to the F1 race. The level of competition seems high and it will be good matching skill with these amazing talents from Britain and France."
